Many of the best long walks in South Africa need to be booked 6-12 months in advance. These include the guided walks in Kruger National Park, the Otter Trail and the Whale Trail in the De Hoop Nature Reserve during the whale season. If we get enough early bookings, we will try and include, one, two or all three of these in a 6-8 week trip in September-October. By February 2005, it was already too late when we tried to book two of these walks for our 2005 trip.
